Description:
The office of Pre-College Programs seeks approximately 4 energetic student leaders to serve as night duty staff for the College Residential Institute. The College Residential Institute is a month-long program specifically designed for 9th grade students from the Kauffman Scholars program in Kansas City and the KIPP Delta College Preparatory School in Helena, Arkansas. The program is a mixture of fun activities, academic engagement, and authentic campus life at the University of Arkansas.
Compensation:
$500 plus room & board.
Dates of Employment:
Time commitment is from June 4, 2009 & July 2, 2009 - July 22, 2009 (M - W only). This includes 2 days of training.
Qualifications:
Successfully completed a minimum of 50 hours of college credit by June 2009, in good academic standing, minimum GPA of 2.5, leadership experience, time management skills, high energy, and a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
Individuals with experience facilitating student groups and residential life supervisory experience.
Responsibilities Include:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, acting as night security guard for one floor of the residence hall while participants are asleep; being alert and vigilant during the hours of 10 p.m. - 6 a.m.; and conducting rounds during the night. Night duty staff will be able to seep during the day and will not be required to participate in the scheduled daily activities.
