Students: 6th-8th
All project participants will be regularly motivated toward the goal of attending college through participation in fun and goal-oriented workshops. These monthly workshops will educate participants about the rewards of attending college and strengthen them academically. These one to two hour workshops will be provided during the academic year, once a month, for all project participants. Workshop topics will include:
- Self-Esteem/ Assertiveness
- Critical Thinking/Learning Styles
- Careers/ College Awareness
- Communications/Conflict Resolution
- Test Anxiety/Test Taking
- Note Taking/Study Skills
- Technology
- Etiquette/Manners
- Diversity
- Self-Awareness
All workshops are designed to keep students motivated toward the goal of attending college and reaching their ultimate academic potential. Workshops are designed to reach the individual learning styles of all participants, including a diversity of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic activities. Participation in the monthly workshops will be required for all participants.
