Students: 9th-10th

Beginning with the freshman year, academic advice and guidance counseling services will be provided in an effort to assist all students in achieving “college ready” status. Through monthly workshops, staff will provide a variety of services. These services include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Informing students about courses needed to enter an institution of porst-secondary education;
  • Conducting career searches and providing career information;
  • Scheduling and conducting campus visits;
  • Calendar checklists to track the financial aid process, formulate initial post-secondary plans, and begin to investigate scholarships and grants.

In addition, the College Project will provide a series of two-day camps designed specifically for 9th and 10th grade participants. The camps will be held twice a week for two weeks through June and July and will be designed to increase the students’ educational and career opportunities, enhance self-esteem, and establish relationships with professionals that students can seek out for guidance and advice.
